Flanders Gravel Kemmelberg

Saturday June 10, 2023

A GENT-WEVELGEM RIDE THROUGH WORLD HISTORY IN FLANDERS FIELDS

The first event of the Flanders Gravel Series 2023 was a very special one! On Saturday 10 June we discovered the Kemmelberg area during the first edition of Flanders Gravel Kemmelberg.

Participants explored the combination of unpaved Plugstreets, cobbles, hilly sections, historical First World War places and experienced Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields. We finished things off with a unique festival atmosphere.

Conquer the famous Kemmelberg and ride the Plugstreets as a tribute to World War 1

We offer routes for gravel riders of every level. You can choose between three routes of 60, 100 and 140 km.
You are going to explore the Plugstreets, ride the hilly and cobbled climbs of Gent-Wevelgem and feel the deep connection with the First World War. The elevation gain will be between 700 and 1500 m, depending on the distance you choose.
How does it work?
We'll ride in two loops: a morning and afternoon loop and both have a feed station. For the 60 km, there will only be a morning loop. Halfway you'll return to the festival area to get spoiled with a delicious Bavet pasta (veggie too and it's included). Start and finish are at De Chalet in Kemmel, a breathtaking domain located in the beautiful Heuvelland at the foot of the Kemmelberg.

Find out your legs ain't good during your ride? No problem. You can choose and change your distance at any time without informing the organization. We will release the GPX files by email a week before the event.
